2. Operating System Information¶
Pandora Software runs on the OpenWrt v25.12 operating system. OpenWrt is an open-source embedded operating system based on the Linux kernel, primarily used in network devices such as routers. Its core value lies in transforming a regular router with fixed functionality into a platform with high extensibility and customizability.
OpenWrt provides multiple management methods:
- LuCI Web Interface – The most commonly used graphical management tool, allowing users to configure settings conveniently.
- SSH Command Line – After logging in via SSH, users can configure the system using the UCI (Unified Configuration Interface) command-line tool.
3. Supported SEMI Standards and Versions¶
The SECS/GEM communication protocols and versions supported by Pandora Software for communication with factory host systems:
| Software Standard | Version | Description |
|---|---|---|
| SEMI E5 | 0219 | Specification for SEMI Equipment Communications Standard 2 Message Content (SECS-II) |
| SEMI E30 | 0418 | Specification for the Generic Model for Communications and Control of Manufacturing Equipment (GEM) |
| SEMI E37 | 0413 | Specification for High-Speed SECS Message Services (HSMS) Generic Services |
| SEMI E37.1 | 0308 | High-Speed SECS Message Services (HSMS) Single-Session Mode (HSMS-SS) |
4. Other Hardware Platform Support¶
The core advantage of the Pandora Smart Communication Module lies not only in its powerful protocol conversion capabilities, but also in its ability to flexibly adapt to diverse software and hardware environments.
At the operating system level, Pandora Software natively supports the OpenWrt system—an embedded Linux distribution widely used in routers and IoT gateways. At the same time, it is not limited to a single system: on various Linux distributions that support the .NET runtime environment, Pandora can be seamlessly integrated. This means users do not need to replace their existing software stack to use Pandora, significantly reducing migration costs.
At the hardware platform level, Pandora demonstrates outstanding cross-architecture capabilities. It fully supports two major hardware platforms: Arm64 (e.g., NXP i.MX8, Rockchip RK35xx series) and X64 (e.g., Intel/AMD low-power embedded processors). Pandora runs stably on everything from resource-constrained ARM single-board computers to more powerful X64 industrial control hosts.
This "develop once, deploy everywhere" cross-platform characteristic enables manufacturing enterprises to flexibly select hardware according to their actual needs.
